Chris Filip, originally from Illinois, started China Painting in 1994 under the instruction of teacher Mary Ann Ball Dean. She and her family moved to Florida in 1999, where she found more interest in the art and a wonderful venue to sell her work, our Caladium Arts and Crafts Co-op. She paints everything: jewelry, dishes, vases, and even SINKS!
Chris has won numerous awards for her paintings and has several pieces displayed in the
China Painting Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She has been teaching classes for adults as well as children for several years, both out of her studio, The Peacock Palette, and at the Caladium Arts and Crafts Co-op.
Chris is a member of the
World Organization of China Painters and The
Lake Placid China Painters Club.
